Two Days Away...

We are two days away from our opening day at the new Church! It's coming quick...a little too quick at times. I'm so excited though I can barely contain it.

It's been quite a week though. Full of excitement and sadness. We've been working feverishly on getting everything ready and we've also suffered loss as a body of Christ as Pat Looney fell asleep in death last night at OSU Hospital. It's been a roller coast ride this week to say the least.

Yet, that's life...that's ministry! We face the good and the bad through the power of the Holy Spirit. Without the help of God we can do nothing...nothing that will have lasting significance.

So Father, as I think about Thanksgiving, I thank You for your grace that lifts us through the heavy times and mounts wings on us when we sail in the good times.

God bless, see you soon...

Alan

Last service

Wow! What a great day! This was, I think, a cathartic day. A day where we had the chance to share some emotions, remember the importance this building holds in our lives and the excitement of the new adventure God has prepared for us...It certainly is all of His work and blessing that has made the new building possible

We had an incredibly full house. I’m not sure there was much of an empty seat anywhere. In fact we had extra chairs set up and filled and some in the foyer. Some are guessing around 180! God is good. It was good to have some of our North Hills friends come over for our last Sunday.

I can't image all of what God is going to do for His Kingdom through this new facility. He has used the people through the old building to bring many to Christ and he will continue to do that here. (I'm sitting in my new office...overwhelmed at God goodness.)

Have a great evening and I'll keep you up to date on work times to move the remaining stuff over from the old to the new Church. Keep next Sunday in your prayers!!!

We're getting close...

November 20th will be our FIRST SERVICE and we're excited!

Yet, I would ask your prayers for the Lawrenceville congregation tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the last service they hold in the old building. Some have attended there over 70 years I'd guess. For many it's the only building they've every went to Church in on a regular basis. Many, many memories there.

It's going to be a pretty emotional day. Both sadness and also excitement as we get ready for our new building and potential new ministry opportunities through it.

Anyway, tomorrow is just going to be tough...

Thanks for your prayers.

I also want to say this about our congregation...

Wow, what a group we have!!! There were a bunch of folks here today, some almost all day!!!

We got decorating done, a light put on our first service sign, tables set up, storage cabinets put together, stuff moved over from the old to new Church, shelves set up, cooler worked on, sidewalks power washed, stone power washed, windows washed on the outside...and so on!

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!

May God fully bless you for all of your efforts for His Kingdom work.

See you in the morning.

Alan
